For people who love the sleeping giant meme, the GOP doesn't seem to realise the danger of alienating seniors. (Many of the "47%" Romney deried are retired, for example). If seniors start turning on them en masse, this is going to be a landslide.

Something to think about: Bernie Sanders was on MSNBC just now. He's concerned for the future of Social Security, even if Obama wins.

This might be a good time to write your representatives and also President Obama, asking that SS not be cut, nor the retirement age raised, in some deficit bargain.

Realistically, Social Security isn't much to start with now and expecting most workers to stay on the job until age 67 doesn't make sense given two factors: illness and job availability - and of course - there's ageism.
